Some mild drilling may be required to install these in some shells that initially used smaller air vents. We suggest you gradually work your way up from the original-sized hole until you get to 1/2", and be certain to use a sharp bit. | Get a perfectly round mic hole in your head every time without the fear of splitting, tearing, or ripping snags due to knife slips with this compass-style cutter that will cut a clean 2", 3", 4", 5" or 6" hole in your bass drum head. These nifty tools can actually go up to 10", but if you go up that big, you might as well leave your front head off.
